GLADWELL: I say, you're not the Inspector Hawthorn who works with that Sylvester chap, are you? The demonologist?
NICHOLAS: He works with me.
THE LION AND THE ADDER THEME MUSIC BEGINS
ROBIN: Robin Sylvester speaking. Oh, hello! Don't you know what time it is? It ain't civilised.
NICHOLAS: I thought Quakers weren't supposed to gamble.
ROBIN: I never claimed to be a good Quaker.
ROBIN: This is my friend, Nicholas Hawthorn.
NICHOLAS: That's Inspector Hawthorn to you.
BASH: Evelyn Sebastian. You can call me Bash, though. Everybody does.
NICHOLAS: If you've got a problem with Inspector Garrick, you can take it up with him.
BASH: He won't see me! He thinks I'm annoying!
BASH: I don't care about nice young men.
ROBIN: Robin Sylvester and Evelyn Sebastian. That's got a ring to it, doesn't it?
